The trees were purchased from Axten’s Nursery and Landscape Services in Marlton. Joyce Goldsmith, Tina Moore, and Carol Otte Prince of The Garden Club of Marlton served on a Tree Grant Committee to research the issue and write the grant application, relying on guidance from the Evesham Environmental Commission, The Evesham Green Team, and Evesham Township’s Department of Public Works and Department of Recreation and Open Space. Three grants to plant native trees were awarded in 2022 and three more in June 2023. The $1,000 grant was one of six awarded by the state garden club to affiliated garden clubs in New Jersey as part of the commitment made by Cecelia Millea in June 2021 when she was elected the 50th president of the Garden Club of New Jersey. ![]() MARLTON – The Garden Club of Marlton (GCM) was awarded a $1,000 tree grant by the Garden Club of New Jersey (GCNJ) at the state club’s annual meeting in June and the grant has already been used to plant five native trees in the recently renovated London Square Park at 129 Westminster Avenue in Marlton. ![]()
